(TAMPA, Fla.) – Steven Granese, the vice president of the Transform Practice at AgileThought—a national provider of enterprise custom software solutions and transformation consulting to Fortune 1000 clients—will lead a workshop titled, “Everything I Learned About Agile Coaching, I Learned In Little League Baseball,” at Scrum Alliance’s Global Scrum Gathering on Monday, May 20, 2019, in Austin, Texas.
The Global Scrum Gathering—which is held once in North America and once in Europe—attracts over 1,000 Scrum and agile practitioners from around the world to share new ideas, engage in community collaboration and create new connections. Attendees can expect high-quality sessions—including keynotes from best-selling author Daniel Pink and technology leader Chris Messina—and extensive learning opportunities focused on agile and Scrum. This year’s themes are: Champions of Agile, Scrum Team, Community of Agile, Scrum Tool Kit, Scrum in Hard Places, Scrum in my Heart, and Scrum in Weird Places.
During his workshop, Granese will discuss the commonalities between coaching concepts in Little League Baseball and in agile, and why a focus on outcomes can be more effective than only teaching practices. “Over the years, I’ve drawn several parallels between coaching my sons’ baseball teams and agile coaching. And after attending a New York Yankees clinic several years ago, I learned some critical lessons that have helped me improve my agile coaching skills,” said Granese. “This workshop blends two of my passions—agile coaching and baseball—and I’m excited to share these lessons with the audience.”
