Tax Vice President (Remote)

About the Job:

The Tax Vice President will oversee all US and foreign entities (Mexico, Brazil, etc.) Tax Compliance aspects, as well as develop specific tax strategies oriented to optimize the Company’s effective tax rate. Strong US GAAP and Transfer Pricing technical knowledge, as well as strong interpersonal skills are key to the success of the role.

 

Responsibilities:

Activities to be carried out by the Tax VP related to the US and foreign entities on a Monthly Basis and for the Year End Financial Statements under US GAAP (mainly in Mexico) include the review and/or preparation of:

 

  • Consolidated Deferred Tax Asset/Liability Schedules – US Entities and will assist to consolidate the foreign entities.
  • Consolidated Effective Tax Rate Reconciliations
  • Income tax footnote for Financial Statements under US GAAP
  • Tax provision
  • Roll-forward of current taxes payable
  • Tax payments made/refunds
  • Tax basis reconciliation – Including intangibles and goodwill
  • Operating loss and tax credit carry-forwards
  • Permanent/temporal book vs tax registries
  • Intercompany transactions and transfer pricing compliance

 

Activities to be carried with the assistance of Third Party Vendors in which the Tax Specialist will be responsible to collect and provide all the required information

  • BEPS Reports and foreign transfer pricing compliance
  • GILTI tax calculation
  • (BEAT) expense
  • Uncertain Tax Positions/FIN 48 Memo (Consolidated)
  • Valuation Allowance Memo for each in-scope entity
  • Form 1120 U.S. Federal Income Tax Returns
  • Interim Tax Provisions using Fin 18 approach
  • FDII work papers and calculation
  • Subpart F/956 work papers
  • APB23 memo
  • Tested Income amounts (including §163j impact)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of combined experience in Big 4 and/or US Multinational Public Companies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting or related field
  • Tax technical skills in the areas of international tax, M&A, transfer pricing and foreign indirect taxes
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and managing international tax strategies and M&A integrations
  • Analytical skills, organizational and communication skills, and attention to details
  • Fluent in Spanish/English
